🛍️ Temu, Shein Promise To Hike Prices Due To Tariffs
Any tariff-related changes should be written in pencil. We don’t know how long they’ll last and whether they’ll stay at the current rates.
However, one thing we know is that bargain Chinese e-commerce sites Shein and Temu are slated to hike prices tomorrow.
Oh, and we also know that you, our beloved readership, are collectively interested. “Is Basement-Bargain Online Shopping Platform Temu Legitimate?” is one of our best-performing stories in this newsletter of all-time.
China and the United States have imposed triple-digit tariffs on exports. As such, Shein said in a statement, “To keep offering the products you love without compromising on quality, we will be making price adjustments starting April 25, 2025.”
Temu issued a similar statement.
In addition to tariffs, the U.S. scrapped a rule that allowed imports under $800 to enter the U.S. duty-free.
It’s yet to be seen just how steep those price hikes will be. But if you’re a regular Shein or Temu shopper, today may be a good day to stock up.
