✈️ Delta Airlines Revives Outdated Rule
If you’re flying Delta this holiday season, make sure you bring the credit card you used to book your ticket.
The practice used to be commonplace, especially on international flights, prior to advancements in credit card security.
“It’s not entirely clear what is triggering Delta to bring back this rule all of a sudden, but it’s understandable if the reason is to protect against fraud,” Dollar Flight Club opined.
Apparently, the requirement to carry your booking credit card with you existed previously, but Delta is starting to enforce it.
“A number of passengers have recently reported that Delta Air Lines is now strictly enforcing some fine print in its contracts. Sadly, this has left some Americans stranded overseas or faced with paying thousands for alternate flights home,” The Street reported.
One such passenger went to Heathrow Airport in London for a Delta flight but couldn’t print boarding passes without swiping the credit card he used to purchase the flight for himself and his wife.
Faced with the decision to go home or pay thousands of dollars to rebook, the passenger finally was able to produce a photo of the booking credit card that satisfied airline employees in that instance.
To avoid that stress, make sure you bring the credit card you use to buy your airline tickets to all Delta flights moving forward.
