✈️ How To Avoid Delayed Flights By Booking Carefully
Clark released his four rules to avoid chaos when flying two years ago. In case you missed it, here they are:
Fly nonstop.
Book early flights.
Never check bags.
Consider paying to skip lines.
“Delays cascade through the day,” Clark says, explaining why you should fly early.
New data firmly backs Clark’s claim. According to the latest report from the United States Department of Transportation, the hour between 6 and 7 a.m. was the least likely to produce delayed flights (14%).
Every hour after 7 a.m., the percentage of delayed flights grows, peaking at 8 to 9 p.m. (50%+). That’s a remarkable difference of 36%.
Really late takeoffs from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. saw 28% of flights delayed on limited data.
The conclusion is clear: If you want to avoid flight delays, book as early in the day as possible.
